These warriors of noble birth would have been the true elite warriors of Goth armies. They would be part of the Goth Chieftains Hearthguard and would have rode with him into battle. Some were wealthy enough to have armor for their steeds as well as themselves. Horse armor was often looted from Roman armories and could be made of metal, leather or even bone.
